Mangalnath Temple Ujjain

Mangal (Mars) is believed to be the son of Earth (Prithvi), according to old Hindu books (Purans). This means Mars was created from Earth. Some stories say Mangal was born from the energy of Lord Shiva. In astrology (Jyotish Shastra), Mars is known for its strong and powerful nature. Astrology studies 12 zodiac signs, planets (Grah), and constellations (Nakshatra). Mangal is also a sign of honor for Aries.

Mangalnath Temple is on the banks of the holy Kshipra River in Ujjain, known as the center of the world. The Tropic of Cancer passes through Ujjain.
